Brother George Washington, born today to Augustine and Mary Ball Washington in Popes Creek, Colony of Virginia, British America, he rose through the ranks of the Continental Army becoming General of the armed forces leading the troops to Valley Forge Pennsylvania, crossing the Delaware River and the Siege of Boston.
He was initiated into the fraternity of Freemasonry in 1752 at Fredericksburg Lodge No. 4 A. F. & A. M. in Fredericksburg, Virginia and raised to Fellowcraft on March 3, 1753 and raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on August 4, 1753. On May 29, 1788 Brother Washington was unanimously chosen Master of Alexandria Lodge No. 22 (Now known as Alexandria-Washington Lodge No. 22) in Alexandria, Virginia.
