Brethren, our fraternity is under attack by misguided people who don't understand what Freemasonry is and what we do as a charitable organization and as a result there have been reports of Masonic temples being broken into and vandalized and in some of the worse case scenarios they were burned to the ground including an incident on October 14th in which a Masonic Temple in Lismore New South Wales Australia was burned to the ground and closer to home in 2023 a man burn down Leesburg Lodge No. 58 in the 15th Masonic District that case is still pending in the Lake County courts, a Molotov Cocktail was thrown at the Grand Lodge of New York in Manhattan, the Grand Lodge of Ireland was broken into and vandalized as well as three Masonic Temples in Metro Vancouver in Canada which were severely damaged or burn to the ground with the list of incidents going on and on.
As a result we're are asking that all of the Worshipful Masters, lodge officers and Brethren of the particular lodges here in the 21st Masonic District remain vigilant in protecting their lodge and the Brothers within it. If you see any suspicious persons hanging around in or near a Masonic temple property DO NOT APPROACH THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!! immediately call your local police or county sheriff's office by dialing 911. You are also asked to make sure that before you leave the lodge all doors, windows and other areas which provide access to the interior of the lodge is secured, that all security cameras if you have them (If you don't you should buy them immediately) and burglar alarms are active at all times when there is no one in the lodge.
